Iryu Team Medical Dragon (Japanese Drama)

Posted in Drama  by Rey | September 17th, 2006

Want to be my friend? Talk about Japanese drama with me and we will click right away. People who know me will know that I am a hardcore when it comes to watching Japanese dramas. I follow latest releases all the time, season by season, so I am really confident when it comes to this topic. Anyways, I kinda missed this drama titled “Iryu Team Medical Dragon” until my buddy, Gary, came to my place and introduced it to me. Want to know the first impression I got after watching the first episode?

WOAH! This is so fucking mindblowing! It is so fricking cool!

Yeah, that line comes into my tiny brain after watching the first episode.

Iryu is a medical drama (drama that involves doctors, surgeries etc…). Since I am not a doctor myself, I am not able to make an accurate judgement whether what they are saying or practice in the drama is true/correct, but since it is so damn cool and convincing, I decided to believe in the show whole-heartedly.

Here’s a brief review that I found on the internet.

“Iryu - Team Medical Dragon,” the hit TV series (11 episodes) stars Kenji Sakaguchi, Izumi Inamori, Teppei Koike and Kazuki Kitamura……

It is adapted from hit Manga and tells the story of a brilliant cardio surgeon Asada Ryutaro, a renegade whose ways defy the corrupted medical system in order to save his patients. Having finished the series in one day, I could say this is one of the best Japanese series I ever watched. I enjoyed it more than The Great White Tower and the soudtrack’s amazing.

I like all the actors, especially the leading actor who’d go ahead with anything as long as it’s right, without regard for what he’s getting himself into. The surgery scenes are very interesting to watch and Asada’s skills are amazing to behold.

My opinion is identical to the review above as well: This drama is perfect, the story is awesome, while the surgery is breath taking and the music is soooooo GOOD as well (I have the soundtrack :D). Most girls that watch this will fall in love with Asada Ryutaro, while guys will admire him for both his skills (although it is fake… as in acting) and his coolness.

So should you watch it? Watch it now!

Here’s some images that I captured from the video…
