Michael Jordan vs Kobe Bryant
One of the hottest topic that has been debated for ages (in various forums, talks and even youtube). Personally, I think that this debate is stupid. I mean those retards are actually comparing Kobe Bryant to the “airness” Michael Jordan? There are LOTS of facts on why Mike is better than Kobe (as in owning), but since I don’t feel like writing a long post, I will only mention some of the facts.
The Shaq Factor
We all know that Kobe has not won any ring without Shaq in his team, while Shaq has already won one with Dwyane Wade (and Shaq is no longer his old dominant-self). How does this compare the 2 players (as in MJ and Kobe)? Ok, have you watched Jordan back in the days when he was in his prime? Shaq was there too, and he was his old dominant self! He can still jump and he even crossed over Jordan once in an All-Star game. So what happens when the old dominant Shaq met the prime Michael Jordan? This happens…
Jordan dropped 64 points on Orlando Magic… and with an injured wrist. The Bulls lost (Horace Grant screwed it) but on that year, the Bulls dominated the league and won the NBA Finals. Can Kobe do this? He has not proven anything yet, and the Shaq now is no longer his old dominant self, you should be able to see the difference in his game today and the video above. He can’t jump anymore.
The Clutch Plays
People are saying that Kobe is the best clutch shooter in the league. Yeah, I know he hits LOTS of crucial shots… but have you ever thought of the amount of clutch shots that he attempted, and the amount he made?
A thorough research was done by 82games.com (http://82games.com/random12.htm). Here’s Kobe stats:
Player - Kobe Bryant
Fgm -7
Fga - 32
Fg% - .219
Fuck, a mere .219 for his clutch shot FG? This just shows that he DARES to take the shots, but he doesn’t care if he is going to make the damn shots. You want to compare this stats with Michael Jordan? Who is known as the greatest clutch player in the whole universe? Still a long way to go, fanboys.
Sidekicks
Bryant won 3 rings with Shaq, wins none without. Jordan won 6 rings with Pippen, 0 without. What’s the difference between the two?
First, Kobe doesn’t like Shaq, so he ended up forcing the Lakers to trade Shaq out. Why did he do this? He was tired of being the sidekick of Shaq… he didn’t want to be the 2nd player, he wanted to be the leader, the top scorer, the MAN. Ok, he got what he wanted now, so what happens? The Lakers ended up as a shitty team, which busted a 3-1 leads against the Suns in the playoff.
As for Jordan, he is not like Kobe. He built his own sidekicks. Scottie Pippen didn’t join the roster until 1987 and he didn’t see major minutes until 1988. Not forgetting that Jordan made key players out of Steve Kerr, Pippen, and even Bill Wennington.
Give Lamar Odom to Jordan and he will turn him into another key players.
But Kobe Scored 81 points… Jordan only scored 69
I can end up writing a long ass paragraph for this, so how about you reading what Pippen has to say about it?

Do a search for “Can’t Compare Kobe and MJ” (without the “”) and read the whole article.
And if you want to look at that game, here it is…
And he didn’t do that against Toronto Raptors lmao, he did that against a playoff team that is predicted to sweep his own Bulls in the playoff series. Don’t forget that he did this under all the rules that Pippen mentioned… lots of rough stuff happening.
If you want to say that Kobe could get 100, I would say that Michael could get 100. If Kobe could get 81, I think Michael could get 100 in today’s game. I think the psychological style that Michael was able to master in the game, puts him far beyond Kobe.
He says that so fricking well, I could cry.
Age
Some people are saying that Kobe is better than Michael if you compare their progress using age as an indication. :ckck:
That just shows that those people have not seen Jordan when he first entered NBA… he is unstoppable, he FLIES and he is so fucking explosive that you won’t believe that he is a human being. Here is the highlights of his 9th game in the NBA:
And here’s MJ’s rookie statistics: He averaged 28.2ppg, 51.5FG%, 84.5%FT%, 6.5rpg, 5.9apg and 2.4 steals per game in his rookie year.
I can go on and on tearing Kobe apart in more factors such as FG%, 3 point shootings (Kobe has a higher % but that’s not the point here), the raw stats and many more! I am just too lazy to write long article.
Conclusion: The bottomline is that, Kobe is talented, he plays like Mike in the late 90s (after his first retirement) and he shoots better three pointers. The main problem about him is his ego, he tries too hard to be Michael Jordan. Also, he takes LOTS of stupid shots, his career FG% average is enough to prove that point.
You want to start comparing Kobe to Jordan? I suggest that you start watching Jordan before making any comparison. :ckck:
Oh and here’s the links to the highlights of lots of Jordan games when he was in his prime (and late 90s too), I didn’t sleep a few days ago watching all of them, I am sure you will be able to see his standard after watching all of the videos. I am also very sure that you will be like “Kobe who?” after you watched them.
